The Parable of the Good Samaritan:
A scholar of the law once asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied with a parable about a robbery victim who was left for dead on the side of the road. Two travelers passed by him. Finally, a Samaritan tended to his wounds and paid for his lodging. Jesus asked, “Who was neighbor to the robber’s victim?” The scholar answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.”
The Good Samaritan Society is a group of faithful donors who, through their monthly gift to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, answer Christ’s call to act with mercy.
