Food – St. Lucy Food Project

Over 250,000 people in the Diocese of Arlington are “food insecure,” meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from. Please consider a donation to St. Lucy Food Project to support local pantries in the fight against hunger.

Medical Healthcare

We live Christ’s command to heal the sick by providing free quality healthcare to low-income individuals who are uninsured or under-insured. More than 180 volunteers, primarily medical professionals, staff our Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinics. During the COVID-19 pandemic most of our care is being provided by telemedicine.

Transitional Housing

Catholic Charities provides housing, workforce development and other services to single men, and to pregnant women and single mothers with children to help them move from homelessness toward stable lives.

Senior Services

Operated by Catholic Charities in partnership with the city of Alexandria, St. Martin de Porres Senior Center provides instructor-led exercise, ESOL classes, social and entertainment activities, health presentations, field trips, and more.

Immigrants & Refugees

Newcomer Services needs volunteer English teachers, citizenship and workforce training teachers, mentors, office assistants, pro bono attorneys, legal office assistants, and interpreters. Training provided. No foreign language necessary.

Prison Ministry

Prison Ministry in the Diocese of Arlington is a pastoral care ministry whereby the Christian Community shares I the healing ministry of Christ. It is a ministry of presence and witness.
