To better serve the needs of our neighbors, our Thrift Store has transitioned to a Clothing Closet, providing essential free clothing to neighbors in need.

Clothing donations can be dropped off on Thursdays between 10:30am and 3:00pm, appointments are not necessary. We unable to accept non-clothing items. Questions, please contact Catholic Charities at 703-940-7505.

- Street parking is available: 1-3 hour free spots or paid parking up to 3 hours maximum.

Eligibility
Applicants who are 18 years of age or older are considered adults and must apply for clothing under their name. A current photo ID is required. Proof of children is required and one of the following must be provided for each child: photo ID or passport, school documentation (i.e. registration, letter, etc.), or birth certificate. Depending on appointment availability, families may receive a clothing voucher once in a 3-month period, and individuals who are unhoused may receive items once every 30 days. The number of clothing items depends on the availability of clothing at the Clothing Closet at the time of the intake.
Clothing intake is by appointment only and is conducted on Tuesdays from 9:00am – 2:00pm at Christ House, 131 S. West Street, Alexandria. A voucher must be used on the day of issue and if not used, a family must wait and return in 3 months or if unhoused in 30 days. *If you do not show for your appointment, you will have one more opportunity to make an appointment, and if you do not show a second time you will no longer be eligible for the program. Clients who are more than 10 minutes late will lose their appointment and must call back to make another appointment.
Voucher shopping is conducted on Tuesdays from 9:00 – 2:00pm at the Clothing Closet located next door to Christ House. You are limited to the quantity for each clothing item which is written on the voucher. There are no substitutions for items on the voucher and items are not returnable or exchangeable. After shopping you will be requested to: show a current photo ID and sign the voucher acknowledging receipt of clothing.
Our voucher program serves any eligible resident of the Diocese of Arlington located within Arlington County, City of Alexandria, City of Falls Church, City of Fredericksburg, City of Manassas, City of Manassas Park, Fairfax County, Orange County, Prince William County, Spotsylvania County, Stafford County, King George County, Lancaster County, Northumberland County, Richmond County, Westmoreland County. City of Winchester, Clarke County, Culpeper, Fauquier County, Frederick County, Loudoun County, Madison County, Page County, Rappahannock County, Shenandoah County and Warren County.
