Katherine McManus, LCSW
Pregnancy and Adoption Support Supervisor
Since joining this team in 2016, I have loved working with the Pregnancy & Adoption Support team. My experience since graduating with my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) has been rooted in child welfare. I went on to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I always knew I wanted to work with children but I never knew how much I would enjoy working with families and expectant parents as well. The amount of love and strength I am able to see with our clients is absolutely amazing. Everyone’s story is unique and I feel honored to be a small part of their journey.
During an average week, you may find me in our Fairfax the office supporting our staff and families or in the community with expectant parents and/or birthparents. I also host our monthly birthmother support group and I oversee all of our “Waiting Child” foster care adoptions. I am fortunate to work with a great team of co-workers who are incredibly caring advocates for our clients and each other.
If you were to ask my colleagues to describe me, they would likely say friendly, organized, and always smiling!
Loves: Hiking, reading/audiobooks, Zumba, traveling, peppermint tea, and sour candy
Dislikes: Washing dishes, sweet potatoes, alarm clocks, Styrofoam
