Here are some numbers for those struggling with substance abuse and addiction:

*We will schedule your appointment with a Family Service counselor, who will provide counseling sessions and referrals by either secure teleconferencing or limited in-person appointments.

Addiction Statistics:

  • With a 10-day prescription of opioid painkillers, 1 in 5 people develop an increased risk of opioid addiction.
  • Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them.
  • About 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.
  • From 1999 to 2016, more than 200,000 people died in the United States from overdoses related to prescription opioids.
