This statement of Privacy applies to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington (CCDA) and its primary website (www.ccda.net) and governs data collection and usage.  For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington or CCDA, include www.ccda.net.  The CCDA website is a non-profit news, information, and ecommerce site. By using the CCDA website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.   

Collection of your personal information 

CCDA will collect personally identifiable information (PII) on this site, www.ccda.net, when you subscribe to its newsletter, register for an event, or process a donation.  To complete these transactions, CCDA will collect PII, which may include but not be limited to, your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number.   

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use services available on this Site.  These may include: (a) registering for e-newsletter account; (b) registering for an event; (c) sending us an email message; (d) submitting your credit card or other payment information when registering or donating on our Site. We will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to events or donations that you have requested from us.  We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.

CCDA is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how we treat the Personal Information that we collect and receive from you in connection with your use of the SMS Service (“Service”), which we make available to you through a third-party service provider. This Policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service. 

By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Policy. CCDA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify or change this Policy at any time with or without prior notice to you. This Policy, and any changes, are effective as soon as posted. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes to the Policy constitutes your full acceptance of those changes. 

“Personal Information” is information that individually identifies you, such as your mobile phone number or user/screen name, as well as any Personal Information that you choose to include in messages you send through the Service. 

Through the use of the SMS Service, CCDA will receive the following information from our third-party service provider: your mobile phone number when you send a text message to us, the text of messages that you send to other users of the Service as well as any comments or feedback regarding the Service that you send to us. 

Use of your personal information 

CCDA collects and uses your personal information to operate its website and deliver the services you have requested.  CCDA may share personally identifiable information (PII) with trusted affiliated entities (Catholic Diocese of Arlington (CDA) and the Arlington Catholic Herald) and also use your information to inform you of other events, activities or volunteer opportunities available from CCDA and its affiliates. 

We use Personal Information to (a) provide you with the SMS Service, (b) process and respond to inquiries, (c) improve the Service, (d) if necessary, and contact you with important announcements or messages. 

Sharing of information with Third Party

CCDA does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.   

CCDA may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail or provide support or assistance. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to CCDA, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
