Catholic Charities operates two housing programs that help single men, and also pregnant women and single mothers with children, to transition from homelessness to independent living. Case management, counseling and a focus on workforce development are the cornerstones of the services offered. All adult clients must be able and willing to work.
Men's Transitional Housing
Christ House, located in Alexandria, opens its doors to single men. Clients engage in intensive case management, individual and group counseling, employment services and spiritual care. At Christ House, staff and volunteers support the needs of each client individually to help each resident realize their own path to self-sufficiency and independence.

Family Transitional Housing
St. Margaret of Cortona, located in Woodbridge, is home to single mothers with dependent children. A dependent child is a child under 18 years of age. Adult clients participate in case management, individual counseling, employment services and life skills classes. Children enjoy their own age-appropriate support and activities, including school support, arts and crafts, and peer activities.
