Christ House Thrift Shop

The Christ House Thrift Store is Open!

Following an exciting two months of renovations and improvements, we are open for business and accepting donations! Please stop by to say hello and if you can, donate your own gently used clothing and household goods. Due to our renovations, we had to turn away many generous donations. We are now looking for help to get our inventory back up to par. The thrift store serves thousands of poor and beautiful souls every year. We need your help to make sure we can provide for our families again as soon as possible. Thank you for your prayers and your donations!

Hours of Operation:

Effective Monday, October 9, 2017 the Christ House thrift shop is open six days a week:

  • Monday 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm.

Taking a thoughtful look at our mission and operations, we determined it is best to close on Sundays effective October 8, 2017.

Where do proceeds from the store go?

The proceeds from the store support the emergency assistance program which assists families in crisis. Items are inexpensive and when you shop or donate you are also helping those in need!

We welcome your donations* of clothing, accessories, handbags and shoes (all seasons), antiques, collectibles, jewelry, artwork, household items, knick-knacks and small pieces of furniture such as plant stands, accent tables and wood chairs.

*We cannot accept computer equipment, baby furniture, toys and stuffed animals.

Please drop off donations during business hours at 125 S. West Street in Alexandria. Thank you for your support and God bless you!

About Christ House
Founded in 1973, Christ House provides food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless, and clothing to those in need. Christ House helps individuals recognize their abilities, develop self-sufficiency, and maintain their self-respect. It offers limited assistance to individuals needing help to pay their rent, utility bills and prescription bills.

More than sixteen hundred volunteers contribute time and talent to the important work of Christ House. Many help with preparing and serving the evening meals, and some help by painting, cleaning windows and rugs, and washing dishes. Numerous volunteers assist during Christmas, Thanksgiving and other special times. Christ House thanks it many dedicated volunteers.
