Flu Shot Clinic at St. Martin's

October 9, 2008 --- Flu shots will be administered from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Senior Center. Bring a photo ID and your health insurance card. Most insurance plans will be accepted, including Aetna and Medicare. (If you have no insurance, the fee is $30.) St. Martin's is located at 4650 Taney Avenue in Alexandria. "Justice for Immigrants" presentation #2

October 9, 2008 --Second presentation in "Justice for Immigrants" series sponsored by St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, and Church of the Nativity. Speaker will be Tony Cube from U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Topic will be "Immigration: The myths, the facts, and the history." Immigrants will tell their own stories. Roundtable for Emergency Assistance Programs

November 6, 2008 - Catholic Charities invites local Emergency Assistance programs to participate in a forum about policies that work, best practices, ways of collecting statistics, ways to help clients break the cycle of poverty, and other topics.
Starts at 10:00 a.m. and continues through a working lunch until 1:00 p.m. Held at Christ House at 131 S. West St. in Alexandria. Attendees are asked to bring brochures, intake forms, budget forms, and other materials to share. RSVP to to sodwyer@ccda.net .

"Search and Reunion in Adoption"

November 8, 2008 -- "Search and Reunion in Adoption" presentation hosted by Catholic Charities' Children's Services staff. Includes a panel discussion by members of the adoption triad: adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive parents.
Virginia's procedures for opening adoption records and how to get started with a search will be explained.
Program is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Bellarmine Chapel, just off the George Mason University campus in Fairfax. To pre-register ($30), call 703-425-0100.

Citizenship Assistance Workshop
